Priory Lodge lies just off the cobbled High Street of South Queensferry, a picturesque town which sits between the two famous bridges spanning the River Forth.
Close to the town are three of Scotland's finest stately homes, Dundas Castle, Hopetoun House and Dalmeny House. Within a few miles drive are Blackness Castle, House of the Binns and the very historic Palace of Linlithgow.
For people who are more interested in water sports, South Queensferry's own Port Edgar Marina offers plenty of scope for any visiting sea faring people. For other sporting enthusiasts, Knockhill Racing Circuit and the Ratho Adventure Centre are less than 20 minutes away. As you would expect in the land of golf, there are a large number of golf courses nearby in Lothian and in Fife (including the links at St Andrews).
Nearby the Fife Cycleways, the Fife Coastal Paths or the Falkirk Wheel provide an enjoyable way to spend a day. In the evening, visitors can enjoy the spectacle of the world famous Forth Rail Bridge floodlit from dusk until dawn. Or you could view the Bridge by taking a leisurely cruise along the River Forth in the Maid of the Forth, or with Forth Tours.
South Queensferry offers the visitor numerous specialist shops (including Absolutely Blooming (florist) and the Niche Gallery), quaint Public Houses, and a host of restaurants such as the Boat House, catering for every taste.
